CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS (CEHS)
ACF offers a range of continuing-education opportunities to enhance skills
and maintain ACF certification, including a quiz generated from articles in
each issue of The National Culinary Review. Download and complete the
questions, register at eCulinary and take the online quiz to earn four CEHs.
Are you an ACFEF apprentice supervising chef? You can earn 12 CEHs
per calendar year for the entire year you supervise apprentices. Contact

MEMBERS NEEDED FOR ACCREDITING COMMISSION,
The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) Accrediting
Commission is asking Western Region industry chefs, postsecondary educators
and secondary educators, as well as Central Region industry chefs, to nominate
themselves to serve on the ACFEF Accrediting Commission and the ACFEF
Accrediting Commission Secondary Certification Subcommittee. Each is a
three-year commitment. The commission meets twice annually, in January
and July, to review documentation from accreditation site visits and make a
determination on a grant of accreditation. Commission members are also asked
to serve on subcommittees throughout the year to assist with accreditation
process and policy development. Industry representatives must be current ACF members and hold a minimum ACF certification of CEC. Postsecondary
and secondary educators must come from ACFEF recognized programs and hold a minimum ACF certification of CCE, CEC or CEPC for postsecondary,
and CCE, CSCE, CEC or CEPC for secondary. To submit your name for consideration to serve on the ACFEF Accrediting Commission or ACFEF Accrediting
Commission Secondary Certification Subcommittee, send a resume and cover letter to Dana Baldwin ( email@example.com) no later than Oct. 16, 2017.
The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation National Apprenticeship Committee (NAC) is asking apprenticeship program coordinators, educators,
supervising chefs and apprentice graduates who are currently involved or have been involved in the past five years to nominate themselves to serve on the NAC.
The committee meets twice annually, in January and July, to review documentation from apprenticeship site visits and makes a determination on a grant of
recognition of apprenticeship. Committee members serve on the committee for three years. They are also asked to be available throughout the year to assist
with apprenticeship process, policy development and site visits. Industry representatives must be current ACF members who are ACF certified at a minimum
level of CCC or CWPC. Educator representatives must be current ACF members and hold a minimum certification level of CEC, CEPC, CCE or CSCE. To submit
your name for consideration to serve on the NAC, send a resume and cover letter to Jean McElwain ( firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than Oct. 16, 2017.
