More than 1,500 chefs, cooks, students and foodservice professionals gathered at the Hyatt
Regency New Orleans for 2018 Cook. Craft. Create. ACF Convention & Show, July 15-19. Hosted
by ACF New Orleans Chapter, Cook. Craft. Create. offered educational seminars, demonstrations,
keynote speakers, competitions and networking opportunities. The national convention revitalized
members, foodservice professionals, students and competitors and ignited innovation that attendees
took back to their classrooms, employees and kitchens.
Chefs outreach to the Community
Twenty-eight volunteers took part in Chefs Outreach to the Community at Ozanam Inn
( www.ozanaminn.org), New Orleans, Sunday, the convention’s opening day. They served a one-pot meal to 300 homeless people, using ingredients readily available at most local food banks.
Volunteers mingled with the mission’s clients and sat with them at lunch. “They were truly happy
