Meet the Foodservice Team
The Twin City Quarter culinary team—serving the Winston-Salem Marriott and Embassy
Suites Hotel—is 35 members strong and led by North Carolina native Christian Froelich,
executive chef. A summa cum laude graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Froelich
has more than 20 years of culinary experience in standalone and fine-dining restaurants,
and specializes in classic European techniques with local, fresh ingredients. Banquet
chef Michael Durgerian has more than 25 years of culinary experience in convention
centers, universities and sporting arenas. The complex has 170,000 square feet of event
space, two restaurants and two lounges.

Join ACF Southeast Region Vice President
Jeff Bacon, CEC, CCA, AAC, as he covers
ACF business and recognizes several
Southeast region award winners during
General Session. ACF National President
Michael Ty, CEC, AAC, will report on the
state of ACF. Then, Dr. Maya Angelou, one of
the nation’s most notable poets and a civil-
rights activist, will address the assembly as
keynote speaker. As an educator, historian,
best-selling author, actress, playwright,
producer and director, Angelou continues
to spread her legendary wisdom. Kimberly
Brock Brown, CEPC, CCA, AAC, and Dennie
Streeter Veasey, CEC, CCE, will take
the stage to demonstrate recipes from
Angelou’s cookbooks.
